App: Image Compressor
Developer: ByteForge Tools
Package name: com.byteforge.imagecompressor
Effective date: May 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Image Compressor ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the App. We designed the App to compress images locally on your device, without requiring an account and without uploading your photos to our servers.

Short version: Your images are processed on your device. We do not upload your photos to a server. We use Google AdMob to show ads and Google UMP to manage consent where required by law, and Google Firebase to collect aggregate usage statistics and crash diagnostics that help us improve the App.

1. Information We Process

1.1 Photos and image files

The App lets you choose images from your device and compress them. These images are processed locally on your device. We do not upload your selected photos, compressed photos, or image contents to ByteForge Tools servers.

The App may read image metadata (such as dimensions and file size) to display previews, estimate output size, and perform compression. If you enable the "Keep photo metadata" option, the App may attempt to preserve metadata in the output image. Photo metadata can include information such as camera model, shooting time, and potentially location data (GPS), depending on the original image.

1.2 Advertising data

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect or use device identifiers, including the advertising ID, IP address, coarse location derived from IP, app interaction information, crash data, diagnostic data, and other information as described by Google's policies.

In regions where consent is required, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage your choices for personalized advertising and related purposes. If you do not consent to personalized advertising, ads may still be shown, but they may be non-personalized.

1.3 App settings and local data

The App stores certain settings locally on your device, such as compression preferences, whether onboarding has been shown, custom output folder choices, recent compression sessions, and consent-related settings stored by Google UMP. This data is used to make the App work correctly and is not uploaded to ByteForge Tools servers.

1.4 Analytics and diagnostic data

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the App is used in aggregate and to detect and fix stability problems. These tools may collect aggregate usage events (such as when a compression starts or completes and how many images were processed), app and device information (such as app version, device model, operating system version, and language), an approximate region derived from your IP address, and crash and diagnostic data (such as stack traces and the state of the App at the time of a crash).

This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. We do not send your photos, image contents, file names, or file paths to these services.

3. Third-Party Services

4. How We Use Information

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your photos or upload your selected images to ByteForge Tools servers. Advertising-related data, aggregate analytics data, and crash diagnostics may be processed by Google and its partners according to Google's policies and your consent choices.

6. Data Retention

Images you select and compressed images you create remain on your device or in the folder you choose. You can delete compressed outputs from within the App or through your device's file manager or gallery app. Local App settings remain until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

We use platform-provided storage and Android security controls. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Please be careful when sharing photos that may contain sensitive image content or metadata.
